Some worlds are built by accident. This one was built by necessity.
My name is Sarah Sillitoe. I'm a late-diagnosed AuDHD woman, an illustrator, a writer, and apparently someone who builds entire woodland postal services when the real world gets too loud.
For most of my life I didn't have a word for the way my brain worked. I just knew that I needed beauty around me. I needed stories. I needed somewhere soft to land when everything felt like too much. I masked, I pushed through, I burnt out. Again and again.
After my diagnosis, I started to understand what my brain actually needed — deep immersion, sensory grounding, gentle narrative, and a world with grace at the centre of it. A world where the characters look after each other. Where forgiveness is woven into the very soil.
So I built one.
The Graceful Grove began as a private retreat — a woodland world I created just for myself. Slowly it became something I wanted to share. Because if my brain needed this, maybe yours does too.
Everything in the Grove is made by me — the illustrations, the stories, the music, the stamps, even the little scent cards. It is a one-woman woodland, hand-packed with love and sent out into the world one parcel at a time.
The Grove runs on Christian values of grace — the kind that whispers you are enough, you are loved, and you belong here. You don't need to share my faith to find rest here. The door is open to everyone.
Welcome. The kettle's on. The deer are gentle. And nobody here will ask too much of you.
